“Red Carnations” features two well-dressed gentlemen who happen to meet on the same park bench. Each is wearing a red carnation, expecting the arrival of a delightful woman he met at a masked ball. They’ve never seen each other’s faces, so you’ll have to attend to witness the unexpected outcome.

A Christmas Carol
A Rec Center Production
Come see “A Christmas Carol”. It's the timeless Charles Dickens tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Watch as Scrooge learns Marley’s lesson—to live life fully with friends and family.

Featuring 14 actors, 4 tech crew, 3 production staff and 4 singers — many are proud members of the Theatre West Club. Theatre West will resume presenting the holiday show in 2026. The community is grateful for the 2025 club leaderships endorsement and SCW Rec Center show management. Both support this cherished holiday tradition — especially one benefiting charity — as we say in theatre, "The show must go on!"

Join the Club

Theatre West offers full-length plays and musicals from fall through spring at the Stardust Theatre in Sun City West. Ticket sales to performances are open to the general public.
Short productions, called Tuesday Programs, are performed after club meetings on the third Tuesday of each month. Sun City West residents who are interested in any or all phases of theatre, including participation in plays or musical productions, are welcome to join. Members aspiring to act on stage can learn technique and gain experience through various other activities.

Theatre West became a chartered club in 1980 and has a growing membership. With the completion of the Stardust Theatre building in 1989, Theatre West became a viable performing art club. Its success has attracted sell-out audiences for every production.

The club has contributed to a fully equipped scenery shop, storage building, refitted state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment. Income from ticket sales (after expenses) is used to continually improve the theatre and audience experience.
