Any resident of Sun City West, Arizona with a Recreation Card may audition for a Tuesday Program or Main Stage Production. Upon offer and acceptance of a role, the performer must join the club per Rec Center policy.

SHOP 'TIL YOU DROP - DEAD!

"Shop til you Drop - Dead!" a short play by Craig Sodaro. The hit TV game show "Stop, Shop and Bankroll" has come to town to tape segments bringing it's dashing host, Benny Sharpe and lovely hostess Loreli Lawless. As usual, director Astrid Cornelius is wound up and worried about her temperamental stars. Contestants from the audience participate in the first segment, oblivious of backstage intrigue. But not for long. During the shopping part of the game, Bennie cashes in his chips -- poisoned by person or persons unknown! Miss Peabody, the cookies-and-cream librarian who's no stranger to murder, takes control and attempts to keep order until the police arrive. But Astrid sees a new opportunity for a TV game show -- solving the crime with cameras rolling! Three audience members participate in the shopping game and everyone in the audience looks for clues during intermission. This is one shopping spree your audience will never forget!

TW is seeking applicants to direct a board selected show, "The Wild Women of Winedale" by Jesse Jones, Nicholas Hope, and James Wooten. This will be our Oct. 2026 show.
This is a hilarious comedy featuring 5 women from Winedale. One battles the shock of her 60th birthday, another turns to Voda and speed knitting to cope with her stressful nursing job, and another is trying to make a comeback from being a widow. This light hearted comedy is guaranteed to bring out the laughs.
Applicants should send their experience and visions for this show in an email to vicepresident@theatrewestscw.com no later than March 1st.

If being "on stage" isn't your thing -- there are a lot of critical roles in the theatre! The show would not "go on" without members who bring these talents to each production!

Box Office - Volunteers are training to use the ticketing system and sign up to run the box office! Get involved.

Usher—Come 45 minutes early and greet the audience, distribute programs and help people find their seats. As little as one night; and it can be on the same night you have tickets.

House Manager—Supervise ushers. Lock up when show is completed. Usually requires a 4-6 night commitment.

Social committee—host and help organize our champagne, cast party or luncheons.

Wardrobe/Designing—if you have a flair for fashion, or like to sew, this may be the place for you. See the article in this issue.

Acquiring Props—if you love to look through consignment and second hand stores this is the job for you

Set décor—have an eye for decorating? We are always looking for help in making our sets fit the play and look realistic.

Producing—if you’re good at organizing and keeping people on task this is a fun job.

Set design—have a knack for visualizing what a set would look like? We are always looking for someone to plan and sketch out the physical requirements of the set.

Set Construction—help to physically build the sets that the designer creates. We have all the tools to make this job interesting.

Stage Manager—the stage manager is the director of all backstage activities during all rehearsals and performances.

Back Stage Support—during the run of a show the crew backstage sets up props, moves scenery, helps the actors get ready and a myriad of other tasks that make the show a success.
Each of the above positions also has learning and assistant positions available. You don't need to come with experience ... we'll teach you.
