Theatre West

Theatre West is dedicated to enriching the cultural fabric of Sun City West through the transformative power of live theater. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, our mission is to bring together the diverse talents and passions of our community's residents to create exceptional theatrical experiences.

Guided by the belief that the performing arts have the ability to inspire, educate, and connect, Theatre West is committed to:

  1. Community Engagement: Fostering a vibrant and inclusive cultural community by providing accessible and compelling theatrical productions that resonate with audiences of all ages.

  2. Local Talent Development: Nurturing and showcasing the artistic talents of Sun City West residents through opportunities for participation in every aspect of theater, from acting and directing to set design and technical production.

  3. Educational Outreach: Inspiring a love for the performing arts through educational initiatives that engage with local schools, senior centers, and community groups. We aim to make theater an integral part of our community's learning and enrichment.

  4. Cultural Enrichment: Serving as a catalyst for cultural enrichment by presenting a diverse range of thought-provoking, entertaining, and socially relevant productions that reflect the depth and diversity of the human experience.

  5. Sustainability: Ensuring the longevity and sustainability of our organization by fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, building strong community partnerships, and responsibly managing our resources.

By adhering to these principles, Theatre West strives to be a cornerstone of artistic expression in Sun City West, fostering creativity, unity, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts within our community.

We are located at the Stardust Theatre, Kuentz Recreation Center.

On the third Tuesday of each month, from September through April, we have a short club meeting that begins at 1:30 p.m (doors open at 1PM). Afterward, members and their invited guests enjoy a 50-minute or less program. This can range from a series of skits to a short, scripted play. Members are encouraged to take part in these programs to learn various roles (Producer, Actor, Stage Manager, etc.) prior or in addition to taking part in the main stage shows.
